Being a member of the So Cal TLCA, it's always great to be able to participate in club events :)

This one, in particular, is something I was especially excited about - because not only an excuse to get outside and hit some trails on a weekend - but an opportunity to give back and help protect access to 4x4 trails by contributing time to the US Forest Service 'adopt a trail' prog...

Another quick wheeling trip, this time organized by me and my friend Arbi and then expanded by a new buddy, Gil.

First time I've ever wheeled with only Jeeps! Had a killer time though - and learned some valuable lessons about knowing where you end up (rules are a bit different on reservation land...)

Get out there yall!

This was on our calendar for awhile...and will (hopefully) be a perennially-attended event for Zoverlander teammates.

In 2016, Karineh and I went for the first time; paid our way (opted for the full 'Overland Experience' package) and really took advantage of all the classes that were offered (both of us had a full calendar, all three days) and had a truly spectacular time! We me...

One of the best, most memorable trips to date :)

Thorough write-up still being developed (we did a lot and want to memorialize everything!) so stay tuned!!

Until then, check out some of the pictures we took :)

Literally the day we got back from Iceland, a good buddy of mine, Julien (who drives a SICK 5th gen t4r) invited me on a quick day wheeling trip out at Rowher Flats with his brother in law and a mega cool dude who goes by the handle @alex.busta on Insta.  My FJ was still getting some upgrades down at @yotamasters down in Corona (getting ready for the Overland Expo) so I took the...

This was A LOT of fun.  The first 'official' Zoverlander trip! publicized through our Facebook and Instagram channels, as well as through the 'So Cal TLCA' page (as I'm a member of that club) since it was initially supposed to be a collaborative effort.

What started as a fun idea that we wanted to invite club members too and try and meet new people through, WENT VIRAL and h...

Me and a buddy decided to scramble up to Mammoth to take advantage of some awesome weather we’ve been having recently.  The last weekend of February just presented itself.

I have a friend who lives there (and has couches to crash on) and had a day left on my Mountain Collective pass – and don’t have to rent any gear – so for me, it was pretty much a question of filling the tank an...

February 27, 2017

A month or so ago, my lovely girlfriend (who is now my fiance…!) forwarded me an article that featured a number of lesser-known attractions that could make for fun trips, all located in California – and one of the entries was about the Burro Schmidt Tunnel in the Mojave Desert.

Immediately it got added to my ‘list’ of places to check out.  Shortly after that, Presidents Day w...

One of the things ‘housed’ on this blog (which is way overdue) will be a thorough writeup for each and every trip I go on, from here on out.  There – I’m committed!

With that said, it’s only appropriate to list and briefly describe some (this is an incomplete but ongoing list of adventure/camping trips I’ve taken since moving to California in late 2006) of my favorite trips up to...

I find myself answering a lot of questions like ‘what is 4WD’ and ‘how are 4WD and AWD different’ to friends/family/coworkers (sometimes even strangers) – so I thought it pertinent to dive a little deeper and write about this subject.

I’ll also start by saying there are quite a lot of complicating and confusing factors in this discussion – so it’s not surprising that these kind of...
